Wigs

To keep a wig on during the most energetic dance, the light round is quite a skill, but there are certain methods I believe will keep a wig on with any length/thickness of hair. The most important step in putting a wig on, is the hair preparation, if your own hair isn't secure there is no way that the wig will be! I prepare the wig hair by firstly splitting the hair up, leaving enough for a quiff (if you have one), most of the hair for the doughnut bun and the remainder for the plaits at the back.
I always do the quiff last because it will prevent it being flattened by the comb at the front of the wig.

Any suggestions for tips/advice on anything or any interesting topics to talk about?

Thanks.

Cheap and cheerful is the way forward!

I know that as soon as I think make up, I think of MAC. Most performers in any type of art use MAC makeup because the quality is so high. I fully recommend it and would go as far to say that I believe they have produced some of the best makeup products ever.

Another thought that springs to mind when thinking of MAC is expense. As you probably already know, this brand of makeup is not the cheapest one out there and believe it or not there are some substitutes that can be made with cheap and cheerful products.

MUA is my new essential when it comes to lipstick, nail varnish, eye shadow and press powder! I love these products because even though they are priced at an amazing £1 each!!! they provide a great effect and are just as good as any other top name brand. Below is a photo of the bronze MUA eyeshadow which i used on the Minor Ceili All Ireland Champions, The Scanlon School.  (below are photos of how it looked)

Another MUA product which I love is there lipstick! I used a dark pink colour on these two girls below and it created a lipliner look without using one. It's a great colour aswell and at a price of £1 you can't beat it!

What I do, when applying foundation..

The key to having even patchy free foundation, is to apply a thin layer of moisturiser on your face before applying foundation. This also makes the foundation last longer on your face, which is useful especially spending  long days waiting around for recalls and results at major competitions.
After applying foundation I find that by using a press powder it creates an airbrushed look, which hides all shiny parts of the face.
I never ever, ever go for a majorly dark foundation straight away, the tip that I would give out to everyone is to build it up bit by bit; do not overload with bronzer straight away. I always use a shimmer free bronzer as I believe it creates a more naturally tanned look. Also when applying bronzer I prefer to use a larger brush for a more even coverage and I always blow off the excess bronzer on the brush before applying to the face, so no patches occur.

This is the normal routine I do every feis. If there are any area's in particular which anyone would like advice or tips on, please feel free to comment below, even on anonymous, thanks.

Introduction

To start off this blog, I would first like to make clear that, I am not writing this blog to promote anyone or anything in particular, I am just sharing tips about my passion for makeup and all pictures will be mine unless stated.
